Individual Therapy

As a therapist, I am dedicated to providing a safe, transformative space for individuals to come in and explore what is keeping them stuck and helping them move past blocks and traumas in their life so that they can get to a happy and healthier place. I take pride in providing an environment where clients feel supported, while also giving clients the gentle push that they need to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs in order to create more space for kindness and change within themselves. Taking the first step to reach out for help can be challenging. I am here to make it as easy as possible and support you through that process.

Some issues addressed in individual therapy include:

  • Anxiety, stress reduction, depression
  • Career stress and life transitions
  • Emotional regulation and anger management
  • Relationship issues
  • Trauma and loss
  • Self-esteem

If you are wondering if individual therapy is the right fit for you, please give me a call to speak further. I tailor my approach to each individual client and incorporate relational, attachment-based approaches, mind-body work and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my work with clients. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to assess how I can best help you. For more info, check out my FAQ.

“I’ve been going to Tina for a little over a year, and she’s helped me work through so many issues. She’s an excellent listener, and remembers the smallest details without ever taking notes during sessions. She’s fully present, asks all the right questions, and doesn’t make you feel as though you’re being judged.

That being said, she isn’t afraid to challenge you. While she knows when the right times are to listen, she also knows when to give meaningful feedback/advice so you can actually grow and work through your issues. I always leave our sessions with more clarity and peace of mind, and I’m so grateful to have found her.”

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Our romantic relationships are often at the center of our world. If you are struggling to feel joy and satisfaction in your relationship, couples therapy can be a great way to help explore how to communicate better, heal past hurts and get back on the same page in order to move forward.

As a Level 3 trained Gottman Method Couples Therapist, I am deeply passionate and devoted to working with couples on resolving issues that have come up within the relationship. Below are some common issues I address directly in my work with couples:

  • Rebuilding trust
  • Processing after an affair
  • Parenting and co-parenting issues
  • Emotion regulation
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Exploring sexual blocks and challenges
  • Overcoming insecurities

What to Expect with the Gottman Method- How it Works

Gottman Method Couples therapy is an approach based on 40 years of research with thousands of couples. It works to address and strengthen friendship, conflict management and create shared meaning between couples. For more information about this modality, you can visit this website.

Assessment Phase

I begin couples therapy with a 3-step assessment phase, which first involves meeting with couples to gain a detailed history and understanding of the relationship. In this initial session I will be gathering information about the relationship and introducing the Gottman Method. In the following two sessions, I’ll be meeting with each partner individually and having both partners fill out an online assessment which measures various aspects of relational well-being.

Feedback Session & Therapy Process

After both individual sessions, I will reconvene with couples to share the results of the online assessment and lay out the treatment plan for therapy. I’ll provide more education in this session about the Gottman Method and how it can help. Following the assessment and feedback session, we will collaborate to best meet your needs and help you reach your goals. I typically meet with couples on a weekly basis until goals are met and the couple feels ready to continue on their own what has been learned in the therapy room.

Tina is an amazing therapist. She cares deeply about her clients and is incredibly insightful. I refer to her often as I know her clients are in the best of hands! She is especially knowledgeable about couples therapy and has helped many couples through difficult times. If you are looking for a therapist I strongly recommend her!”

Therapy for Breakups

I am a big believer that breakups are one of the most understated losses and events that happen in our lives. They are so common, experienced by so many people, and yet there is often an expectation and time limit on how long it ‘should’ take to move on or for healing to occur. I commonly hear clients share that they don’t feel they have a space to talk about the sadness, loss and many thoughts that arise after a relationship ends. Not having this space can lead to repressed feelings, shame, or a longer and tougher healing process.

I have dedicated the last two years of my career to co-authoring a book on breakups and building an online community to support those who are struggling with the loss of a relationship. I specialize in helping clients navigate the many feelings that come up when breakups occur and am passionate about giving clients the support, compassion, education and tools the need to move forward after a breakup.
